Stakeholder Workgroups

The Air Quality Division is welcoming interested individuals to participate in one of three advisory groups/committees. All meetings take place at the Linn County Public Health office in the main conference room unless annouced otherwise.  To recieve emails about meeting times and agenda, sign up for our email notification system by clicking here.

General Stakeholder Meeting:

This general informational meeting is for all stakeholders. Updates and changes to the local air quality program will be made at this quarterly meeting.

The next General Stakeholder meeting presentation will be at the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce Industrial Users Meeting held December 5, 2008

LCCO and Permit Advisory Group:

Recommend improvements to the code of ordinances and permitting process. This workgroup has divided into two subgroups. The first group meets at 9:00 to discuss local programs such as open burning, burn barrels, outdoor wood boilers, and odor. The second work group meets at 10:00 am to discuss industrial permitting and related county ordinances.

The next meeting for the LCCO and Permit Advisory Group is been scheduled for Feburary 20, 2009.
Residential and Community Stakeholders will meet at 9:00 AM.
Business and Industry Stakeholders will meet at 10:00 AM.

NAAQS Advisory Group:

This group would identify, advise, and implement proactive measures (including advocacy to external stakeholders) to ensure Linn County remains in attainment of the NAAQS.

The last meeting for the NAAQS Advisory Group was on January 30 at 10:00 AM.  The next meeting date has not been determined.

Public Outreach Committee:

This group develops and implements voluntary programs to advance air quality in Linn County through communication, education, philanthropy and recognition

The next meeting for the Public Outreach Committee will be February 27 at 10:00AM.
